What's the current hard disk sweet spot?

Updated 15/7/06

The hard disk sweet spot is currently at 300GB.

320GB and 250GB drives also represent excellent value and come in a close second. If you don't need the full 300Gig then you can save a few dollars and get almost identical megs per dollar to the 300GB drive.

Parallel ATA drives still represent the best value but only by a tiny margin. Don't feel bad if you are forced to purchase a serial ATA drive because that's all your system takes because the difference in price is usually less than 5%.
